PREMIERSHIP TRANSFER RUMOUR BETTING TIPS
With the only real Premier League drama happening around boardroom tables and on players mobile phones at the moment, we've put together a few tips to help you cash in on the comings and goings in the English Premier League this summer. Right now, the whispers are starting to concern John Terry and the very unlikely chance of him going to Manchester City. At the outset, you would say "no way", but the rumours haven't gone away and it is actually quite obvious that City are actively trying to recruit Terry. Chelsea have already rejected at least one big, but after rumours surfaced that John Terry and Mark Hughes were staying in the same hotel in Dubai (!!!) it looks like punters are starting to take the transfer more seriously. Terry has not signed a new contract this summer, but the Betfair punters seem fairly confident that he will stay with his current price to remain at Chelsea listed at 1.14. You can back him to leave Chelsea at 5.1. Keep in mind that Terry is 31 years old and if City realistically offer a ridiculous sum for Terry's services (he will likely retire in 4 years or so) Chelsea would likely give it a second look. Cesc Fabregas remains a whole other story. There are rumours circulating that Arsenal have set a £40 pricetag on their star midfielder and captain with Barcelona being the keenest suitor. He can be backed at a best price of 1.16 to stay and a highest-price of 2.22 to go- those are very slim odds for a team's captain to be heading out the door. This one is significantly more likely than the Terry transfer, but I wouldn't rule out either of them. Michael Owen did just sign for Manchester United and all...The Betfair punters also seem confident that Joleon Lescott could be on his way out. He is at 1.84 to stay and a mere 1.31 to go. With City offering, well, City-money he could certainly start talking the talk with the Sheikhs. Didier Drogba looks a virtual certainty to remain at Chelsea with his odds listed at a best price of 1.15 and him heading out the door at Stamford Bridge will pay out at 5.4. Emmanuel Adebayor is completely up in the air at the moment with his remaining at Arsenal commanding a 1.6 price while him being transferred pays out at 1.57. There isn't much margin between the two at all. Liverpool's Xabi Alonso looks set to depart for Real Madrid, if you believe the layers on Betfair, with his odds of staying at Arsenal listed at 2.12 while him heading for the exit door garners a 1.52 price.
