Southampton need all three points at home to Spurs to not only keep alive hopes of maintaining their ever present Premiership status, but also of ensuring that Norwich don't not climb above them, should the Canaries defeat Chelsea. The reason why the Saints are still four points away from safety has been the inability to convert draws into victories. That said there has been a notable improvement in performances from the Southcoast club of late. Then in midweek a potential tricky replay was overcome at Brentford.The victory at Griffin Park should act as a good morale booster for the home encounter with Tottenham. The North London club for all their flair have not been the most entertaining away with only eight goals scored on their travels. Finding the back of the net has in fact proved troublesome for Spurs in recent years on the Southcoast with no points and no goals. A similar outcome can be expected again on Saturday and so Southampton should be backed at 6/4. To bolster the potential profit to the Saints victory, Chelsea are also worth adding into the equation to see off Norwich at Carrow Road. The Canaries must be low on confidence after throwing away a lead on Monday against Manchester City. Meanwhile, a few hours earlier Chelsea were busy winning the Carling Cup against Liverpool. That first domestic triumph ended a period of uncertainty for the Londoners, who ought to now push on and clinch the Premiership title.
