President Putin scoops Patriots Owner's Superbowl Ring.
Leave it to the sportswriters to try and cause an international incident, as the rumors are flying over a Super Bowl ring owned by New England Patriots owner Robert Craft. How many times have we all been in a situation where a friend or acquaintance commented on a piece of jewelry or collection piece and asked to have a look or you offered it to him to view. Seems Kraft was at the Kostanrinovsky Palace near St. Petersburg on the weekend to share some business ideas with the Russian President Vladimir Putin. Maybe they were throwing back a few "Vodkas" and Kraft started talking football and happened to flash his 124 diamond Super Bowl ring.I guess Robert asked Putin if he would like a look-see and Putin tried the gem on and then promptly deposited in his pocket. Obviously the Russian translator was busy quaffing down a few Stolles himself and misunderstood have a look, as keep the nugget!Reports indicate that the ring is worth far more then the reported $15,000, but let's stop and look at this precarious situation a little closer.Kraft's estimated worth is in the hundreds of millions and his business interests include paper and packaging companies, as well as venture capital. We certainly know that Kraft is not over there for the purpose of the beautiful weather or fine cuisine. If you recall back in April the big wigs at Ford paid four PGA golfers $150,000 each to bang a few balls around with some of their best dealers. It's referred to as the price for doing business folks! We know that the country of Russia is dominated by the mob and would suggest that the business dealings that Kraft and Putin are negotiating are probably worth millions. What's a Super Bowl ring between business associates? Especially when you still have two more in your jewelry box!
