Punter Bowled Out By Selectors!

Patrick Smyth, a Williamhill punter from Winchester, was disappointed today following the announcement that Chris Tremlett is to be 12th man in tomorrows 1st Test. Back in 2000, Patrick placed £109 on C.Tremlett to play Test cricket following a tip off from his 18 year old son, who had just seen Tremlett skittle out another club side. Patrick, who is a keen horseracing fan, had a look at the form and on seeing that Chris Tremlett's Grandfather had played Test Cricket as well as his father narrowly missing out, decided it was worth a punt. Hills offered odds of 66/1 that Chris would play Test cricket before 2010 and are now on the verge of paying out over £7000."Patrick showed a lot of faith backing a then 18 year old Tremlett and has been unlucky to miss out on the money this time. But it looks inevitable that we will be paying out in the near future", said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams. The Bet £109 at 66/1 that C Tremlett will play test cricket before 2010
