Racing: Spencer shortens for Jockey crown
VC Bet have cut Jamie Spencer from 8s to 6/1 to win this season's Flat Jockey Championship title following his 126/1 double at York on Wednesday. The baby-faced Irishman came home first on Zero Tolerance and The Kiddykid to join Seb Sanders at 6/1 in VC Bet's outrights for the 2005 crown. "Jamie has recovered from the setbacks at Ballydoyle last year and is now riding with great confidence," said VC Bet's Neal Wilkins. Spencer was a 25/1 chance at the start of the season. "There's no reason to believe that he won't continue riding lots more winners this season and should be right up there in the firing line come the end of the season," he added. Frankie Dettori heads the firm's outright market at 4/7. *Covers turf and all weather races from March 26 to November 5. 4/7 L. Dettori 5 R.Moore 6 S. Sanders 6 J.Spencer 8 D.
