Racing this week
The next major racing event sees us staying up for a bit of late night viewing as the US Racing community gathers at Churchill Downs for its somewhat self-righteously proclaimed World Championships on November 4th.Fortunately, unlike the World Series of Baseball, entries come from further afield than Canada and, if it weren't for Royal Ascot and Nad al-Sheba, the Americans would have every right to name it so. That said the card is perennially absorbing and we can look forward to Irish invader George Washington declaring his independence as the racing world's top-rated horse as he takes on Bernandini and Lava Man. However, the Breeders' Cup Classic will be the first time the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt has raced on dirt. It will certainly test Mick Kinane, but the pairing is certainly worth an each-way bet at 10/1, available through Ladbrokes. Watch this space next week for a closer look at the card?
