RAFA BENITEZ ODDS AT 15/1 FOR THE SACK
Having just lost out to Lyon in dramatic fashion in front of their home fans, Liverpool are facing a season that is starting to spiral out of control and it's only mid October. William Hill, one of the top UK bookmakers, has raised Liverpool's price to win the English Premiership to a whopping 14/1. This is a team that was considered 2nd or 3rd best in the league before the season kicked off, but four losses in a row is relegation form. Rafael Benitez is listed at 15/1 by William Hill to be the next Premiership Manager sacked. There is plenty of cash to be made if you think he's going to be literally the next one out the door. If Hicks and Gillette or the Sheiks or whoever is running Liverpool think that Benitez and his poor tactics are doing more harm than good, then we could certainly be looking at a ridiculously large payout. Paul Hart remains the favourite to be sacked first at a price of 2.38. Hull City's Phil Brown is in very poor shape at 3.5 and he could be facing the axe at Hull City. The issue with those two is that they don't have the profile that Benitez does and I expect the call from fans for him to step down could reach a cacophony within the next few days. If Rafa is out, he's going to go now. If not, he'll stay for the season. Keep in mind that if you sign up with William Hill, they'll give you a £25 free bet and why not place that on Rafa Benitez to get the boot? You'd be looking at a very tidy profit if this truly was the last straw.
