Real Madrid Look to Future

Although they find themselves fighting on three fronts against archrivals Barcelona, Real Madrid are already looking to reload for the 2011-12 season. Cadena COPE reported on Tuesday that Real Madrid will exercise their option to buy Togolese international Emanuel.

In their report they state that both Florentino Pérez and Jose Mourinho met and decided on what the team will need next season.  Their first step would be to pay Manchester City the €17.4 million being asked for in addition to the €4 million already paid to cover his wages for the rest of this season.

Their next priority would be to find a top quality midfielder to play alongside Xabi Alonso as both Sami Khedira and Lass Diarra have not impressed the Special One.  Pérez and Mourinho already discarded the idea of having Fernando Llorente, Cesc Fábregas and Sergio Agüero arrive during the summer transfer period.

Madrid intend to keep French forward Karim Benzema as well as Gonzalo Higuaín on board for next season.  They also look to count on youth product Álvaro Morata to shore up their midfield.

One player that looks to have his days at Real Madrid numbered is Kaká.  The former FIFA World Player of the Year has disappointed Merengue during his 20-month stay at the Bernabéu where his level of play has tailed off dramatically since making his move from AC Milan.

Injuries have also slowed the Brazilian international significantly.  There have been offers made by Chelsea as well as Manchester City, but the tantalizing offer is that of Russian side Rubin Kazan who have a €45 million offer on the table.

Real Madrid will host Málaga on Thursday in the return of former coach Manuel Pellegrini to the Santiago Bernabéu since losing his job at the end of last season.
