REAL MADRID VS BARCELONA 2010 EL CLASSICO LAST MINUTE BETTING TIPS

We're just a few hours away from kick-off in today's massive fixture between Real Madrid and Barcelona at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Real Madrid have been given the slight edge by the bookmakers, but you know that Barca are still seeing heavy betting volume in this divisive fixture. You'll find top UK bookmakers William Hill pricing Los Cules at 6/4 with the Catalan club sitting at a 17/10 listing.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the favoured goalscorer for Real Madrid in this fixture with a price of evens to score anytime and a 4/1 listing to hit the net first or last. He is 13/2 to score two goals and 25/1 to get a hat-trick. Gonzalo Higuain is sitting at 6/5 anytime and 9/2 first or last. He's priced at 7/1 for two or more and 25/1 to get three or more.
Karim Benzema is well-priced at 15/8 anytime with Raul available at a 9/4 price. Kaka sits at 11/4 with Rafael Van Der Vaart at 10/3. Xabi Alonso is at 11/2 alongside Guti with Sergio Ramos an interesting anytime bet at 7/1.
Lionel Messi is the match's favoured goalscorer with a 4/5 listing anytime and 7/2 first or last. He is a very short 7/2 to hit two or more and a slim 16/1 for a hat-trick. Can Lionel Messi somehow score a hat-trick against Real Madrid? Bojan is at 2/1, Pedro is at 9/4 alongside Thierry Henry. Xavi sits at 11/2 with Andres Iniesta at the same price.
One thing the bookies definitely seem to favour in this match is a penalty to be awarded. Should any team concede a penalty, you're looking at a 7/4 payout. For most matches, this price hovers around 3/1. A penalty to be awarded and scores is at 11/5 while a penalty to be awarded and missed is available at 17/2.
In the half-time betting market, you'll see Real Madrid as the 9/5 favourites with Barca at 11/5 and the draw can be backed at 13/10.
If you think that both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will score at any point in this fixture (that's a fairly reasonable shout) you can back that at a 17/5 price.
I think the biggest factor in this match is going to be defence. We all know that both of these teams boast first-rate attacks and some quality defenders, and it really boils down to which back four will step up and dominate the match. Real Madrid need to do two things- 1) don't give space to Xavi and Iniesta and try to keep their pass completion percentage as low as possible, 2) shackle Messi without opening up too much space for another striker or the attacking midfielders. Both of these are pretty tall orders, and you get the feeling that this match may be one for the in-play punters. I think Real can definitely win the match, but against Barca there is so little margin for error.
