ROBERTO MARTINEZ TO BE NEXT WIGAN MANAGER ACCORDING TO BETFAIR
Swansea's Roberto Martinez looked extremely close to being named next Celtic manager just yesterday, but after quite a shake-up over night he is now the odds on favourite by a considerable margin to take over for Steve Bruce at Wigan after he accepted the Sunderland slot. Currently, Martinez is trading around the 1.5 mark with former Wigan manager Paul Jewell listed as the 2nd place favourite to take the helm again, carrying odds of around 11.5 or so. Tony Mowbray (who looks set for Celtic) is listed at 14.5 alongside Darren Ferguson with Steve Coppell available at 15.5 at the moment. Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley carries a price of 23.0 with Gordon Strachan now listed at 27.0. These are the only contenders listed below 40 with Steve McClaren sitting at 42.0. It appears as though Martinez is favoured to manage Wigan next year, but there remains a distinct possibility that he may remain at Swansea and that looks to be what the Martinez-layers are banking on here. 1.5 isn't exactly the highest payout you could ever ask for, but when you see the gap between him and the other contenders you realize that there really isn't anywhere else to put your money. I'm backing Roberto Martinez to be named Next Wigan Manager.
