ROY KEANE LEAVING SUNDERLAND
It has been a tumultuous few weeks in terms of Premier League competition and Roy Keane has emerged as the distinct favourite in the EPL sack race. Keane's Sunderland are now in the relegation mire and even Keane himself has admitted his position could be considered untenable thanks to their weekend loss at Bolton Wanderers- a game many people insisted the Black Cats had to win in order to relieve the pressure on their manager. HUGHES REVERSEJust a few short weeks ago, it appeared as though Mark Hughes was shaping up to be out the door at Eastlands, but after a string of relatively successful results, he's solidified his position and appears to be in place until at least the end of the season. Pressure is starting to creep up on Paul Ince at Blackburn as well, with the club also sitting deep at the foot of the table. West Ham's Gianfranco Zola is also facing an uncertain future as he has achieved nothing at West Ham except mediocre results. West Brom's Gary Megson is in charge of the lowest-ranked team in the league, but his situation is different than that of Keane, Ince and Zola- his team was expected to struggle. ODDSCurrently, Keane is listed as the most likely Premiership manager to be sacked, carrying odds of 15/8. Incey isn't in much better positioning, according to the bookies, and he is paying out at 11/4. Mark Hughes is a full 5/1 and Gianfranco Zola is paying out at an incredible 12/1. If Keane can put two or three wins together on the trot, I would back Zola at these odds, however if Sunderland can't put together a win by Christmas, Keane will surely be out the door.
