RYDER CUP OPENING TEE SHOT BETTING
Preparations ahead of tomorrow’s Ryder Cup continue with it looking increasingly likely that the Molinari brothers and Northern Irish pair Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy will be paired together for Team Europe.
Both pairs went out for second practice rounds together yesterday and many expect that McDowell and McIlroy will lead out the European team on Friday morning. The US Open champion can be backed at odds of 2.2 on Betfair to hit Europe’s opening tee shot.
The Americans, however, are keeping their cards much closer to their chest and have mixed up the pairings over the course of the practice rounds. Steve Stricker is the 4/1 favourite to hit their opening tee shot with Tiger Woods available to back at 6/1 and Phil Mickelson is 5/1.
In football, it was an extremely positive midweek for British sides in the Champions League as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Rangers and Tottenham all got maximum points.
Chelsea are now 5/1 second favourites to make the 2010/11 campaign their first season of European glory. Manchester united have strengthened at odds of 8/1 after their win against La Liga toppers Valencia whilst Arsenal’s 3-1 win in Belgrade means that you can now back them at odds of 10/1 for Champions League glory.
