SAINTS VS VIKINGS TOUCHDOWN ODDS AND OVER/UNDER BETTING
The NFL season kicks off in a very big way tonight as we have a Division Final rematch pitting defending Super Bowl champs New Orleans against Brett Favre’s Minnesota Vikings. While its probably not a big surprise that the Saints are the outright favourites to win this one (boasting a 2/5 price with Irish bookmaker Paddy Power), I do expect the 21/10 listing on the Vikings to attract some attention.
Paddy Power is offering up a money-back special on this match where if Reggie Bush scores the final touchdown of the game, they’ll be refunding all losing bets on first TD scorer, first team TD scorer and anytime TD scorer. That’s a pretty hot bet as Reggie Bush is a strong favourite to score in this one.
Touchdown betting is looking extremely profitable at Paddy Power this time out and you should remember that overtime counts for these bets. Adrian Peterson is the favoured anytime touchdown scorer with a 4/7 price while Pierre Thomas is the only other contender at odds-on to score a TD here. Marques Colston and Reggie Bush are both trading at even money to score anytime.
Visanthe Shiancoe is at 7/5 while Devery Henderson is trading at the same price. Percy Harvin is at 9/5 with Jeremy Shockey priced at 7/4.
Drew Brees is trading at 8/1 to score a touchdown in the game and I reckon that’s a decent price. Brett Favre is trading at 14/1 to get himself into the end-zone for a major.
Adrian Peterson is the favoured 1st team touchdown scorer for Minnesota and he’s listed at 9/4 while Pierre Thomas tops the list for the Saints.
We’ve also got over/under’s for several significant players in this one. Brett Favre’s over/under on passing yards is set at 230.5 while Drew Brees is at 290.5. Adrian Peterson is at 95.5 rushing yards with Pierre Thomas set at an enticing 55.5. Marques Colston is sitting at 66.5 while Percy Harvin is at 55.5.
The total over/under on points is set at 49.0.
