Scotland vs England Friendly Match Betting Tips PT 1

It’s not often that you really get to see England and Scotland face off against each other as of late, actually they’ve even played on the same team in recent years if you happen to count the Team GB at the Olympics in London. There is much to like about this fixture today and, even though most of England’s Euro 2016 qualifying matches haven’t really been barn-burners, there is still a lot of possibility that we’ll see both sides come out all guns blazing here - even if it remains a friendly match.

The English go into the match as the predictable favourites despite this one being an away fixture and them being in very hostile territory.

As it currently stands, Roy Hodgson has coached England to a 100% record in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign so far and they will be looking for another boost to their confidence by getting the better of Scotland here. It’s interesting because, as previously mentioned, England don’t exactly have the greatest string of performances but they have been getting results from every single game despite not really playing well.

The ability to win even though you haven’t outplayed the other team is one of the things that got Manchester United so many Premier League titles over the 1990s and 2000s.

You can expect England to name a more experimental line-up here with both managers having to keep an equilibrium between giving players a run-out if they need a game and getting the result to satisfy the fans who have a lot of pride at stake in fixtures like this.

England had an interesting outing against Slovenia at the weekend, with one of the most dire first halves of international football you will ever watch and then a second half that featured everything from an own goal from Jordan Henderson, a penalty goal for Wayne Rooney on his 100th cap, and then a pair of great strikes from Danny Welbeck - who continues to go from strength to strength in an England jersey.
