Serie A Betting Preview
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />If AC Milan don't win on Friday at home to Palermo then Juventus will be crowned Champions. Those are the facts, but can we really see Milan slipping up? No. At 11/10 they are a massive bet with Stan James. One reason they are so big a price is because they have the Champions League Final on Wednesday and they might rest some of their stars. But even so this is a big price for a must win game. The game is being shown live at 19.30pm on British Eurosport. Juventus (6/5) have to travel to mid table Livorno (5/1) and it's difficult not to see them getting something out of this. The pricing up of the draw at Evens tells it's own story. It's getting very scary at the bottom of Serie A and many clubs are still in the danger zone. This weekend will see some tears as a poor showing now could spell curtains for any one of eight clubs. And there are some big clubs in the mix as well. Roma, Parma and Fiorentina will all view relegation as a disaster. Stan James will have odds on every match in this intriuging end to the season. Let's start with the bottom club Atalanta on 35 points and four points adrift of safety, they need to win both their last two games to have any hope of survival. They take on Roma (6/4) at home on Saturday and with them on 41 points it would certainly turn things around if they did. Atalanta's (6/4) goal difference is good as well so they'll see survival as very makeable. Roma are without a lot of their key players and it'll be a difficult game for them.In form Brescia have home advantage against Messina, who are safe. They will see this as a great chance to leap out of the relegation zone. At 4/11 they would be a home banker. Fiorentina on the other hand have to travel to Lazio who are probably just about safe on 42 points. Pricing this game up has been difficult as a draw would suit both sides in a sense. The draw though is short at Evs, and the value could be siding with either Lazio at 5/2 or Fiorentina at 2/1. It's not out of the question that we see a repeat of the Rome derby debacle last week. On 39 points are Chievo and Siena. Chievo (11/10) have the easiest task at home to Bologna (11/4) who are still in danger themselves, but poor old Siena (4/1) have real problems away to Parma (Evs). Parma are just above them on 40 points and a win will see them safe. Siena (4/1) basically have to get something out of this game and I fancy them to do it, although Parma (Evs) don't often lose at home. The draw at 11/8 looks a bet. The whole complexion of the relegation zone could change radically after this weekend. The only other games of interest will be third placed Inter (9/2) away to fourth placed Sampdoria (8/15). It doesn't affect Inter, but Sampdoria will want to win to ensure they bag the last Champions League Qualifying spot. Udinese are level on points with them and they have to travel to mid table Cagliari. They are a bet at 4/5. It should be a cracking weekend, especially if one of the big clubs slip up at the bottom. It could set up a very interesting last weekend.
