The Blades have defied all expectations this season and are just off the Champions League qualification places and European football next season seems all but secured.

The Seagulls are conversely close to the bottom three, struggling for points and victories. Sheffield have just shaded it in their Premier League encounters, with a victory in December at the Amex. Both teams are returning to Premier League action after their winter break and will both look to kick it into high gear for the second half of the season.

Brighton are a good side with a lively midfield triumvirate that has the ability to test Sheffield’s stubborn resistance but the Blades know all too well their valued position in the table and their sterling home form could keep them from dropping three points against the South coast club.

Sheffield have lost five league games since September and will be favoured to avoid defeat this weekend.
