Significant Premiership Odds Swings report Ladbrokes
Ladbrokes can report that this weekend has seen the most significant moves in the Premiership title race in months, with Chelsea's odds shortening from 1/4 to 1/6 and Arsenal's odds doubling to 6/1 from 3/1. Manchester United have gained some ground and are 8/1 from 12/1. The chances of a Stamford Bridge quadruple are down to 28/1, from an opening quote of 200/1 at the start of the season. Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: " On this day last season Arsenal were 13/8 favourites for the title, while Chelsea are currently significantly hotter favourites at 1/6. If Wenger's title win was emphatic then Mourinho's looks as though it could be even more so." "Chelsea winning the Premiership is a poor result for bookmakers but a Chelsea quadruple would make the payout we made on Manchester United's treble in 1999 look like small fry. When Abramovich took over at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal's David Dein remarked that it was like the blues had a tank parked on the lawn outside Highbury firing £50 notes. We see it the same way, we are staring down the barrel of that tank." "We've already had enquiries about paying out on Chelsea for the title but we won't consider it at this stage."
