SOUTH AFRICA VS FRANCE PREDICTIONS AND GROUP A BETTING TIPS
It looks like both of these teams are more or less doomed as a four or five goal haul would be required for either team to even have a chance to progress to the next stage- assuming that one team drops points in the Uruguay-Mexico match.
It's not looking good for South Africa, the first home side in quite a while who will not be heading through. Although you would definitely have to agree that they wouldn't trade places with France for a second.
The bookmakers see this one as a bit of a toss-up and you'll find South Africa priced at 3.2 to win the match while France is the 2.2 favourite. The draw is available at a 3.4 price and I could see that happening for sure.
The favoured correct score call is a 1-0 result to France at a 6.0 price while a 1-1 result pays out at 6.5. A 1-0 victory for South Africa trades at 7.0. A 2-1 victory to France is trading at 9.0 while a 2-2 result is priced at 15.0.
Needless to say, with Nicolas Anelka gone Andre-Pierre Gignac and Thierry Henry are both available at 2.62 to score a goal at any point in the match. Djibril Cisse and Franck Ribery are at 2.75 and 3.5, respectively. If Yoan Gourcuff gets a start, he's listed at 4.0 to grab a goal at any point.
Katlego Mphela is priced at 3.5 to score for South Africa while Steven Pienaar is trading at 5.0.
The bookmakers don't seem to expect a huge amount of goals with a 2.5 over/under showing a 1.66 margin for the under and a 2.1 for the over. Over 3.5 goals pays out at an appropriate price at 3.5.
A red card to be shown in the match pays out at 2.75 and you can just see things going from bad to worse for France.
You just don't know what to expect from France- they could lose 3-0 or win 6-0, but one thing is for certain: the South Africans will want to produce a first-rate performance for their fans. I think they could be worth a shout here.
