Southampton hosts Aston Villa this Saturday in a clash of two underperforming sides in the division.

Southampton has not been excellent at home this season while Villa are fighting against the drop as the business end of the season approaches.

The Saints won 3-1 against Villa last time out however, and will be hoping to recall a similar performance this weekend.

Saints have conceded the most goals at home in the league while Villa can boast the unenviable statistic of the worst defensive record in the league with 50 goals conceded and they are without a clean sheet away from home all season.

West Ham, Watford and Norwich have all conceded less and currently constitute the bottom three.

Southampton has conceded 48 goals of their own as well and over 60 per cent of their goals conceded have come at home.

As such, goals are expected between these two sides that are shambolic defensively and intent on climbing the table at the expense of the other.

Punters are expecting over 2.5 goals in this fixture and both teams are expected to score. It would be no surprise if both teams concede goals and their similar productivity and weaknesses point to a high-scoring draw or slender win for the hosts due to Villa’s underwhelming away form.
