SPAIN VS HOLLAND PREDICTIONS FOR THE WORLD CUP 2010 FINAL
We've now got our finalists for the 2010 World Cup and it was a hard fought victory from Spain over Germany and you get the feeling that many observers might think that they got lucky and don't deserve to be considered the odds-on favourites.
Tell that to the bookmakers though, as Spain are considered the odds-on favourites to win the 2010 World Cup. Popular UK bookmaker William Hill has listed Spain at an 8/13 price to win the 2010 World Cup outright. This includes all extra time and penalties- something we might very well see in the 2010 World Cup Final.
Holland's odds to win the 2010 World Cup are listed at a 6/4 margin and I think that's about right. I think that Germany were sort of playing for the draw in their match and they just really couldn't get anything going after the Spanish side scored the one and only goal.
An important thing to remember about this fixture, if you're planning to bet on it, is that a lower-scoring affair favours Spain while a higher-scoring match will definitely give the edge to the Dutch.
Spain have only actually scored seven goals in the entire tournament and they've basically built their entire campaign on 1-0 (Villa- 85 min) type of victories.
I think that Spain are too short-priced for this one and I think they came up against a German side who had just played their first poor match of the tournament. Neither side has actually won the World Cup before so that definitely adds an extra element to this one. While many might assume that David Villa will be the critical figure, I think that Spanish fans might agree that this could be Fernando Torres' moment to shine!
Who do you think is the best bet to win the 2010 World Cup?
