SPORTING BRAGA VS CELTIC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIER TIPS
We’ve got a pretty exciting looking fixture ahead of us today and Celtic will be looking to get into pole position with an away victory (or even an away goal) in tonight’s fixture against Sporting Braga. The Portuguese club are odds-on for a victory here with William Hill listing them at a 19/20 price while Celtic can be backed at a 13/5. A draw is trading at 23/10 and I think that would be just fine by Celtic’s standards.
The odds for this one might favour Braga, but the actual outright qualification odds are dead-even with both sides priced at 5/6.
The favoured correct score outcome is either a 1-0 victory for Braga or a 1-1 draw, with both options available at 5/1. You can lock in 7/1 odds on a 1-0 victory to Celtic of a 0-0 draw. A 2-1 victory to Braga is trading at 15/2. If you think this one will be a bit of a barn-burner, try backing a 3-2 result with Braga at 33/1 and Celtic at a hefty 50/1 price tag.
In regards to the goalscorer betting odds, Albert Meyong and Ladji Keita are both favoured to get the job done with a 5/4 listing to score anytime. They are both priced at 5/1 to score first or last and 6/1 to get two or more. They are both available at 33/1. Jose Collado and Lima are both listed at 6/4 anytime and 11/2 first or last. Keep your eye on Vandinho at 4/1 anytime.
Georgios Samaras and Marc-Antoine Fortune are both listed at 15/8 anytime and 13/2 first or last. They are each 9/1 to grab two or more and 40/1 for a hat-trick. Diomansy Kamara and Morten Rasmussen are at 9/4 anytime and 15/2 first or last. Aiden McGeady is listed at 5/1 anytime while Sung-Yeung Ko trades at 6/1.
The over/under on goals is set at 2.5 and they favour fewer goals as the under is priced at 8/15 and 11/8 for the over. Under 1.5 goals is priced at 7/4 while over 1.5 is priced at 2.5.
If you think we’ll get off to a quick start here, you can back a team to win the first 15 minutes. Braga are at 11/2 while Celtic are priced at 8/1. Braga are 17/10 to win to nil while Celtic are at 19/5.
Braga are certainly no slouches but I think if Celtic can execute their game plan effectively then there is no reason why they can’t take this one and put Braga under a stranglehold. I think if Celtic grab an early goal then they should be able to organize themselves properly to defend a 1-0 lead.
