ATP World Tour Finals Betting
The showpiece of the ATP World Tour, this major tournament kicks off towards the end of each year as it pits eight of the best players in the world against each other for their share of a massive $4,450,000 (US) purse. The event traces its origins back to 1970 when it was played in Japan for the first time. London’s O2 Arena will host the ATP World Finals until 2012 where it will be moved to a new destination.
The event has been viewed as a kingmaker for the best in the business with living legends Pete Sampras, Ivan Lendl and Roger Federer - all having won the event a record 5 times. Federer holds the distinction of having wn the event undefeated on four of those occasions.
Betting on the ATP World Tour Finals has grown in popularity as the profile of the tournament has increased in recent years. Outright betting is usually quite popular but it is the live wagering on individual fixtures that tends to soak up the bulk of the betting dollars.
