Spurs vs ManU Betting Tips

Martin Jol's Tottenham Hotspur, no doubt still smarting from their defeat at the hands of arch-enemies Arsenal in the Carling Cup semi-final, entertain Manchester United at White Hart Lane on Sunday, and the omens aren't good for Spurs. The north London side have failed to inflict defeat on the Red Devils in their last 11 league encounters and Sir Alex Ferguson's charges have lowered the colours of Spurs in each of their last five Premiership visits to 'The Lane'. Spurs are 27 points behind United in the Premiership and have scored 28 goals less goals than them, with only one game in hand. Indeed, goals - or lack of them - are what's hampering Spurs' progress, and it just so happens that Sunday's visitors have conceded fewer goals on their travels in the league this season than any of their 21 top-flight rivals. The Lilywhites will welcome star turn Aaron Lennon back to the fray as the winger has recovered from illness, while Dimitar Berbatov and Jermaine Jenas are likely to be in the mix from the outset after shrugging off injuries. On the united front, French striker Louis Saha is hoping to start alongside Wayne Rooney after recovering from a knee injury. The home side will be without Mido, who is suspended, and Teemu Tainio. But it's the continued absence of Ledley King at the heart of defence that is causing most problems for Spurs. Anthony Gardiner hasn't impressed during King's period on the easy list, leaving Jol's men extremely vulnerable at the back, despite Matt Dawson's relentless endeavour. These defensive frailties will be cruelly exposed by a rampant, in-form United side that are firmly in pole position in the Premiership with a six-point advantage over nearest pursuers Chelsea. The Red Devils put four pass Watford in midweek and it's hard to envisage this game resulting in another three points for the Mancunians. Wayne Rooney has been in fine form recently having scored four times in United's last four matches in all competitions. At 15/8 with Coral, the 'Boy Wonder' is too good a betting opportunity to miss in the anytime goalscorer market. Games between these two sides at White Hart Lane invariably deliver at least three goals - and I'll be surprised if Rooney doesn't etch his name onto the scoresheet in the process.Wayne Rooney in the anytime goalscorer market @ 15/8 (Coral)
