Stan James on this weekend's European Football Betting
La Liga PreviewNo change at the top from last week as both Barcelona and Real Madrid won and remain six points apart. You suspect that this weekend will be a mirror image as Barcelona (1/6) have an home game against second from bottom Albacete (12/1) and Real Madrid (4/5) travel to mid table Real Sociedad (3/1). Both should win but a note of caution would be that Albacete have to win to realistically survive the drop, and Sociedad have won their last two including a fine win at Real Betis last week. Both games are live on Sky and Stan James will be In-Running throughout. Zidane, Salgado and Samuel all have to serve out suspensions and are unavailable. At the bottom Numancia are all but doomed to the Secunda Division and the thought of Valencia visiting them will not help either. At 7/2 you could see them as good value but their mentality will be that survival is already over. Valencia will be eyeing a Champions League Qualifying spot and at 8/11 they could walk this. Albacete will do well to improve their chances at the Nou Camp, but Mallorca in the last remaining relegation berth are just seven points from safety. With fifteen points still possibly up for grabs they will see an opportunity on Sunday at home to Espanyol, although the Barcelona based club still have their own agenda in fourth spot. Levante (Evs) look vulnerable just above the drop zone although they have a good chance to put some distance on their rivals with their home game against Malaga (9/4).There are a couple of home bankers when Villareal (4/9) take on Getafe, and Sevilla (5/6) entertain Deportivo. Both are fighting for a Champions League spot and should be strong enough to bag the points. With only five games left it's looking increasingly like Barcelona will see out La Liga as champions. They are now 1/20 to win the title. If you really think real Madrid can somehow turn things around then the 7/1 could be a tempting bet indeed?.but only optimists need apply. German Bundesliga PreviewBayern Munich are almost home and hosed to take their 19th Bundesliga title and a win at mid table Kaiserslautern would seal the deal. At 8/13 with Stan James, they are a little short but they are on a roll and the chance is there for the taking. If you can pick up Sportmania they are covering the match live. Stan James will have allthe usual live game markets. Schalke have really let it slip in recent weeks and they need to get back to winning ways soon or they'll find themselves out of the Champions League equation as well. They are 10/11 to beat Leverkusen (5/2) and surely they will take this chance to steady the ship. Stuttgart (6/4) in third are also spluttering a bit of late and they have a very tricky trip to Monchengladbach (13/8) who currently sit precariously over the drop zone. They need to win as Bochum (8/11) below them have a good chance at home against Mainz (10/3).Poor old Freiburg are back in Bundesliga 2 next year and they entertain a Dortmund side who are on a roll and are looking to creep into a Champions League qualifying spot. Amazingly they had 79,000 for their mid table clash with Kaiserslautern last week. They are short at 4/7 but still a strong bet. Hansa Rostock (11/4) are five points away from safety but have a tough home game against a resurgent Hertha Berlin (5/6), still wallowing in their 4-1 drubbing of Schalke last week. There is a lot at stake here and the match is difficult to call. The nap of the day should be Hamburg at 13/8 away to mid table Wolfsburg. Hamburg are finishing very strongly and should secure some sort of Champions League entry now. The game is also live on Setanta and we'll be betting throughout. Werder Bremen are short at 2/7 to beat Bielefeld but should also assert their Champions league credentials. So it could be all over this weekend. Bayern are taking the open top bus out of the garage in preparation. They would have to self destruct quicker than George Best to lose it now. Serie A Preview It's fascinating at the top of Serie A. The two big brothers of Italian football Milan and Juventus are locked together on 73 points and there's only one goal between them on goal difference. They meet in Milan next week but before that, they have to despatch their respective opponents this weekend. Stan James bet 4/6 that AC Milan will take the title and 11/10 that it will wing it's way to Turin. Milan have the tougher game of the two. They have to travel to Florence to play a Fiorentina side dangling just above the drop zone and needing to pick up points. AC have been struggling against the lesser sides of Serie A and it is by no means a banker away win. They might have the Champions League on their minds as well. The Viola have a lot of pride and will fight to the last. Milan are 8/11 and Fiorentina are a tempting 7/2.The match is live on British Eurosport on Saturday night at 19.30pm.It should be worth watching. Juventus have a home game against mid table Bologna who have a poor record of late. You suspect that Juventus could seize a chance to take the initiative this weekend and at 3/10 it seems like one to be included in the long list. The relegation fight is becoming very interesting. Bottom club Atalanta are only three points away from safety and anyone of about nine or ten teams could still go down. But Atalanta (4/1) are faced with a difficult journey to fifth placed Udinese (8/13). It's not beyond them as they have shown a dogged determination to come back from the abyss. This will be an intriguing clash. Roma (4/6) are getting sucked into the relegation battle after a disastrous season and if they lose at home to third from bottom Brescia (4/1) the alarm bells will be ringing loudly in the capital. Parma are in the relegation zone and are in the Semi Final of the UEFA Cup and this must weight heavily on their minds. But at 8/15 they are a little short and Livorno (9/2) are eyeing that 6th spot and the chance of Champions League football next year. It's a difficult one to call. Palermo at 8/11 and Inter at 4/9 both look strong home wins at home to Chievo and Siena respectively?and Inter especially will want to cement that third spot. It does look like the Serie A title and the relegation battle will go to the wire and there will be plenty of swings of fortune to come. Go to Stan James now and get a free twenty five pound bet!
