Stan James on this weekend's European football matches
Serie A Preview Oh boy?.baton down the hatches?.it's showdown time in Serie A. The two giants of Italian football are currently both on 76 points and with only four games left to play, this will almost certainly be the deciding factor??if one team wins that could be it.. A draw will prolong the Title race to the very end. Stan James bet AC Milan at 11/10, Juventus at 5/2 and the Draw at 15/8. It will be one hell of a match at the San Siro so let's focus a bit on the match itself.Firstly it's difficult to assess how the Champions League semi final will affect them. Sure they went through to Istanbul, but the match went to the wire and it must have taken its toll on them. Also what is worrying is that PSV were by far the more superior side. They outplayed AC and if Juventus can get at them early it could be very interesting. It will certainly do Juventus no harm at all to know that Milan are far from invincible at the moment. Stan James have plenty of markets on the game which will be shown live on British Eurosport on Sunday at 2 o'clock. These games with so much at stake are invariably tight affairs. Their previous meeting this season in Turin ended in a dour 0-0 draw. The price for that occurring again is 11/2. A draw half time and a draw full time is 7/2. And let's face it its a result that both sides wouldn't be unhappy with. The best bet though could be one goal or less at the very tempting price of 7/4. 2 goals or less is 8/15 and 2 or 3 goals is priced up at 10/11. The correct score markets could be a source of value. Milan 1-0 (5/1), Milan 2-0 (7/1) and Milan 2-1 (8/1) are all possibilities. Juventus 1-0 (6/1), and a 1-1 draw (9/2) are also on the agenda. The relegation battle is also brewing up nicely, or perilously whichever way you look at it. The big clash on Sunday will be Chievo (6/5) at home to Fiorentina (9/4). The Viola are currently second from bottom, whereas Chievo are one place above the drop zone. Fiorentina will feel that they have to get at least a point from this game. The draw price is 15/8 and looks value. After the much heralded return to Serie A, to go down would be a disaster for Florence. Bottom club Atalanta (4/6) will hope to capitalise on any of their rivals slipping up when they entertain Messina (7/2). This looks a good home bet. The other interesting game is Parma (6/5) at home to Roma (9/4). If Parma were to win this one and the other clubs in the relegation dog-fight have good results then Roma could be sucked into a battle to survive. It would be staggering if they were to go down. They are staring down the barrel of the biggest gun in all of Gunsville. Their only hope is that either one of them or both of them manage to catch up with Monchengladbach and Nurnberg. And here's the rub. Bochum (2/1) have to travel to Nurnberg (11/10) on Saturday. They can turn the whole thing on its head if they win because Nurnburg are six points ahead of them. It's a must win game for Bochum. They are going to have to put their 6-2 home drubbing by Mainz last week behind them and just go for it. I don't know why but I fancy them to do it. Hansa meanwhile are under pressure. They have to travel to Bayer Leverkusen and Stan James bet them at 4/1 to get the three points they desperately need. To add to their woes Leverkusen (8/15) are just three points away from the UEFA Cup spots and will be hoping to finish well. Monchengladbach (4/1) lie one place above the drop zone and are five points clear. But again they have a very tricky away game at Hamburg (8/13). They are far from clear of the mire. With Bayern Munich winning their 19th Title on Saturday the only things to play for at the top are the Champions League and UEFA Cup spots. Schalke (4/6) should cement their hold on the automatic Champions League spot in second, by winning at Bielefeld (7/2) who are now safe from relegation. The other European spaces are being fought over by Stuttgart (2/7) in third at home to Hannover (9/1), Hertha Berlin (4/9) at home to Wolfsburg (6/1) and Werder Bremen (11/8) at home to mid table Dortmund. Dortmund by the way recently had a sell out crowd of 79,000 for a mid table clash! Champions Bayern Munich will be on cloud nine and visit Mainz who could in theory still go down. The price of 10/11 about Bayern is very tempting. They will play for fun and could run up a big score. Spare a thought for Freiburg who are now relegated. They are at home to mid table side Kaiserslautern and are 6/4 to win??which they probably will do, now that it's too late. La Liga PreviewWell with four matches left, the La Liga title is in Barcelona's hands and already the political shenanigans have begun with Real Madrid bleating that Barca will get help from their Catalan brethren in the run in! All good stuff, but Barca shouldn't need it. I say "shouldn't" because they are 6 points clear of Real Madrid with just 12 more points up for grabs. Their goal difference is far better as well. Stan James bet 1/33 for the title with Real Madrid at 9/1.The one problem for Barcelona will be this weekend, because they have a really tricky away game at rivals Valencia. Valencia will take great pride in beating Barca. They consider themselves as big a club on the Spanish scene and will want to let the Catalans know that they are still a force. They also have the personal goal of getting into a Champions League qualifying spot on their agenda. This is a difficult game for Barca?and they know it. The value is with Valencia at 13/8, Barcelona are 11/8 and the draw is 11/5. Meanwhile Real Madrid (1/4) should have a cakewalk against lowly Santander (8/1). Both games are being shown live on Sky Sports and you can bet In-Running during the game if you so wish. Also live on Sky will be the Seville derby between Sevilla and Real Betis. This is always good value as there is no love lost between these two. Sevilla (7/4) are playing well and look nailed on for a Champions League qualifying spot, but that means little in this match. Betis (11/8) who are at home, will be squealing with delight if they can pull them down a peg or two. The draw at 2/1 is always a good option here. At the bottom it looks curtains for Numancia and Albacete, but Mallorca seem to have a chance of avoiding the drop if they can start winning. They are away to Osasuna (5/4) and the 7/4 looks quite good. They'll also be hoping that bottom club Albacete beat their rivals for the drop, Levante who parted company with their manager this week. Albacete are 11/8 and Levante are 13/8. There is an interesting bet when Villareal take on a free falling Malaga side on the Costa Del Sol. At 5/4 they are good value as they have a qualification berth firmly in their sights. It should be an interesting weekend in La Liga. It's really Real Madrid last chance to put the pressure on Barca. It could be a very interesting run in if results go their way. Go to Stan James now and get a free twenty five pound bet!
