STRICTLY COME DANCING-WEEK 2- NEWS, ODDS AND PREDICTIONS

With the somewhat surprising elimination of Goldie last weekend, the latest edition of Strictly Come Dancing is up and running, and with it the excitement and emotion of weekly eliminations.
This coming week see's the long anticipated return of Australian pop star Peter Andre, who will follow in the footsteps of Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, who have also appeared on the programme so far this series.
Andre will be performing his new single 'Defender' in front of a jam packed audience.
With last week's shock exit of Goldie, ahead of elimination favourite Paul Daniels, the bookies have this week had to readjust their settings somewhat in order to cater for a voting public which sways from the norm.
Goldie became the first celebrity to leave after viewers' votes saved Ann Widdecombe to dance another week after a somewhat passionless salsa performance.
The former MP treated millions of viewers to a unique version of the salsa; however her lack of conviction or technique left her bottom of the judges' scoreboard.
Regardless, the show's fans were entertained, and voted to save Widdecombe and her partner Anton Du Beke.
Meanwhile, Goldie had been praised by the judges, however was left in last place following the panel's scores being combined with viewers' votes.
The bookies are offering some great opportunities for those willing to put their money where their mouth is for this year's competition.
Paddy Power has installed Matt Baker as the firm favourite after two weeks of competition.
The Countryfile presenter wowed judges with his first Latin and ballroom routines on the show, and is 15/8 favourite to win it all.
Baker is also the most popular celebrity on the DS forums after week two, picking up 25.62% of a popular vote, slightly ahead of Pamela Stephenson with 22.17%.
Surprisingly, Stephenson is placed rather long at 8/1, with ex-EastEnders stunner Kara Tointon turning up the heat at 7/2
Jimi Mistry of The Guru fame has surprised all and sundry, and is priced at a respectable 6/1
From there the odds get somewhat outrageous with Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson priced at 20/1, whilst former British Conservative Party politician Ann Widdecombe comes in at 40/1
Buffering up the bottom end of proceedings lies the ever popular, and ever uncoordinated Paul Daniels. Daniels, although a favourite with the fans, is priced at 125/1.
This week should be another entertaining one, when taking into considering rumours of romances on set, coupled with this week’s dance either being the rumba or quickstep.
