SUNDERLAND VS STOKE CITY PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS

Two clubs hungry for points face off against each other today as Sunderland are desperately looking for their next victory as they face off at the Stadium of Light against Stoke City. The Black Cats had started the season quite brightly, but now are languishing in lower mid-table.
Sunderland are fairly heavy favourites for this one, and with such inconsistent form of late, this actually represents a solid betting opportunity for Stoke City fans. Sunderland are trading at 23/20 while the Potters are trading at 5/2 and the draw pays 11/5. Stoke’s away form hasn’t been that good, but they are well-priced to turn it around today. You can back Stoke on a draw no bet at a 6/4 price.
The bookmakers don’t expect a huge amount of goals with under 2.5 goals paying out at 8/11 while over 2.5 goals trades at even money. Under 1.5 goals is an interesting 9/4. You’re basically backing 1-0 each way or a bore draw if that one comes through. Not exactly a swashbuckling bet, but with two teams looking to find some form, subtly could be key here.
Stoke City on the (+1.0) handicap trade at a slim 4/7 while Sunderland (-1.0) is listed at 10/3.
In terms of the correct score betting, check out Stoke City to win 1-0 at 9/1 while Sunderland 1-0 pays a slim 6/1. The favoured correct score option, as is usually the case in fixtures like these, is the 1-1 draw at 11/2. 0-0, which is a distinct possibility, trades at 15/2. 2-1 to Sunderland pays 8/1 while 2-1 to Stoke City is 12/1.
One of the most interesting betting selections here is in the half-time/full-time market where Stoke City/Draw pay out at 14/1 while Sunderland/Draw pays the same margin. If you think one team will start strongly and then the match peters out to a draw (this happens very often), then I think this is a great bet. If you’re looking for even more value, try Sunderland/Stoke City at 25/1 while Stoke City/Sunderland trades at the same margin.
Examining the goalscorer betting, we’ve got Darren Bent listed as the most likely goalscorer at a 5/4 price. Kenwyne Jones trades at 6/4 whiel Fraizer Campbell is listed at 7/4. Andy Reid can be backed at 7/2. For Stoke, Ricardo Fuller is at 2/1 while Tuncay Sanli trades at 9/4.
Rumor has it that James Beattie had a medical at Sunderland today, I don’t expect him to be taking on his old club, but that certainly adds an element to things here.
Sunderland are due a win and if Stoke City’s away form continues like it has been, then I think Sunderland are the favourite for the points. I don’t think they’re well-priced however, and a punt on Stoke City or the draw, could be a very solid bet.
