Superbowl betting - profits locked in no matter what
Those who followed the long-term bettingchoice Super Bowl preview are in a fantastic position going into the big event on Sunday evening. Three organisations were selected to make Miami on February 4th, two of which have made it. Chicago Bears were the headline selection at 25/1 based in the main on the weak NFC North, while the other divisions would spend the season beating each other up. This proved spot on as the Bears clinched the number one seed with ease, and apart from a close shave against the other readaBet selection, Seattle Seahawks, found safe passage to the big dance. The NFC conference winners though are the underdogs, and are going against recent history where the AFC has consistently come out on top. Indianapolis Colts are the bookies strong favourites with a best price 2/5 having initially been recommended at 13/2. As it stands the staking plan of the original preview would show a minimum four-point profit. Of course a Bears victory is the preferred scenario given the heft ante-post odds, and whilst that can't be totally ruled out, it would be a major shock if the Colts don't prevail. While the Bears defense is the strength of the franchise, the unit hasn't exactly played with the same authority of the first half of the season. Granted, the Colts offense only began to click against the Patriots, but to go FOUR consecutive games without a multiple TD passing game from Peyton Manning would be quite something. Two weeks preparation ought to be ample time for the AFC champions to devise a plan that can exceed the 24-point scoring average of the Bears previous six opponents. Taking the assumption Indianapolis Colts come out on top, there will be only one possible Super Bowl MVP. It won't be a defensive player, a wide receiver, a tight end, a running back, or even the kicker. The only possible winner can be Peyton Manning given the vast amount of media hype there is about him. NFL fans have watched the Colts signal caller play a staggering 156 straight games with only the rare sack to show for his troubles. In that time Manning has set record after record, and if the Colts are to trouble the scoreboard consistently enough to win, it will be down to his passing ability. Critics will point to the Baltimore game when it was Vinatieri's five field goals that clinched the win, but the difference between that game and the SuperBowl is the Colts have now found some offensive rhythm and in the warm climate of Florida a field goal fest is highly unlikely. Unfortunately the bookies are giving away very little on their MVP odds with stanjames offering the best price 10/11. We are though in the luxurious position of profiting with a win for either team, so the advice has to be invest something in Manning. A Colts win and our overall profits are bumped up, while a Bears triumph would be jackpot. At this point I should state I do appreciate that not everyone reading this preview were fortunate enough to back the Colts and Bears pre-season. A popular wager this week is sure to be back more than 48 points. While everyone sees the Colts as a points machine, and quite rightly so - the Bears scored exactly the same number as their AFC counterparts. The NFC North winners also possess two quality running backs that should enjoy some success on the ground against the Colts run defense that despite some improvement in the play-offs still didn't completely convince against the Patriots. Don't be surprised to see the Bears start with excellent field position throughout the game with Devin Hester returning kicks against a Colts coverage unit that isn't upto play-off standard, let alone good enough to grace a Super Bowl. The Bears ended the regular season going over the total in 10 of their final 13 games, and followed that impressive record with two consecutive overs in the playoffs and now face another high-powered offense in Indianapolis. The Colts went over the total in three of their last four regular season contests, but relied on their defense to reach the AFC Championship Game. However, as pointed above the Colts rediscovered their offensive form against the Patriots piling on 38 points. A bet on over 48 points is the recommendation.
