SUSSEX VS SOMERSET TWENTY20 CUP BETTING TIPS
We’ve got a real humdinger set to kick off today as Sussex take on Somerset in the Twenty20 Cup. There are some really talented players available and I have a feeling that this one is going to come down to the batsmen. I would prefer to win the toss and field first as I reckon both sides are capable of chasing down a solid total.
The odds are considered dead-even for today’s match with both sides trading at a 5/6 price to win the match outright. If you fancy a draw then you’re looking at a hefty 20/1 price. Stranger things have happened, and with little between these sides I think it could be a distinct possibility.
You can get great odds on the Most Sixes market with William Hill pricing both sides at an 11/10 margin.
While I’ve always been an advocate of live betting on twenty20 cricket matches, you can secure some decent odds before the match that you won’t have access to in-play. In the top home batsmen market, we’ve got a tight competition between Murray Goodwin (7/2), Luke Wright (4/1), Ed Joyce (9/2) and Chris Nash (9/2).
For Somerset, it looks to be all about Marcus Trescothick and Craig Kieswetter who trade at 5/2 and 11/4, respectively. I think if Somerset can get a solid match out of both players then they will be tough to beat. Kieswetter has shown plenty of t20 acumen over the past while and will be in cracking form.
Should a player score a dramatic century in this match, you’ve got an 8/1 payout there. A fifty to be score at any time pays 1/3 while no fifties is priced at 9/4. If you think that Kieswetter and Trescothick will be out quickly, the no fifties option is a great price.
The over/under on wides is set at 7.5 with the over being favoured at 8/11. Total boundaries over/under is at 30.5 with both options at 5/6. Total math sixes is at 7.5 as well.
Somerset are favoured for the highest 1st 6 overs total at an 8/11 price while Sussex pay out at even money.
