Swansea vs Liverpool Betting Preview PT 1

The Monday fixture has rapidly turned into a must-win contest for the likes of Liverpool with the top four picture in the Premier League now starting to look very interesting. United and Arsenal both picked up victories at the weekend but Manchester City dropped points to relegation candidates Burnley so there is only two points separating second from fourth.

It wasn’t so much the victory for Manchester United but the manner of their victory over Spurs that will have many observers believing that they can make a genuine run at the Champions League if they continue to play like that. Louis Van Gaal has had so many players playing out of position and lines up with different tactics so often that we have seldom really seen anything work - this time it did and you have to hope (or at least Manchester United fans will have to hope) that Van Gaal will have learned something from this. 

Now, Brendan Rodgers will be a full five points off United if his men can’t get the outright victory here against a Swansea side that have gone off the boil a bit but have still proven that they can take on nearly anybody when they play good stuff. 

The really interesting fact is in the fixture list for Liverpool because they actually face off against Manchester United next Sunday in a clash that will likely have some serious permutations for who finishes in the top four. 

Mario Balotelli has not travelled with the Liverpool squad due to illness but he is said to be ready for that match-up at Anfield. They lost 3-0 to United in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and you have to wonder whether a loss to Louis Van Gaal’s men could start the onset of a bit of a rot at Liverpool?
