TIGER WOODS ODDS AND PREDICTIONS FOR MEDIA STATEMENT FEBRUARY 19
Tiger Woods is set to make his first formal public appearance in front of the media tomorrow at the Accenture Matchplay Championships. With a supposedly “leaked” copy of the statement circulating around the internet today, things have been thrown wide open in the Tiger Woods cliché betting market at Paddy Power.
Currently, the venerable Irish bookmaker is offering up a betting market for the first cliché uttered by Tiger during the press conference. The phrase needs to be repeated exactly as it is printed and there are some pretty solid ones available here.
The betting favourite is “Regret the hurt I’ve caused” which trades at a 7/2 price. “Thank my family” is deadlocked with “I’m Sorry” at 5/1. “Time to Reflect” is also a pretty solid option and you’ll find that at 6/1. “Return to golf” is another hot bet and I like that 10/1 price. “Appeal for Privacy” and “Thank God” (12/1 for both) are probably going to come out at least once, but I don’t fancy them coming out first. God usually only gets mentioned first when a rapper wins a Grammy.
“Getting Back on Course” would be an apt statement and that’s also trading at 12/1. I think a solid outside bet is “Thank my sponsors who have stuck by me” which trades at 14/1. This is especially good considering that the World Matchplay is sponsored by Accenture, which was the first sponsor to drop Tiger. “The Masters” is another hot option and that’s at 14/1. Since it is fairly clear that Woods will announce his return to the golf will be the 2010 Masters, he may even fire this one out in the first sentence. “Time for change” is trading at 20/1 while “We all need to move on” is deadlocked with “we’ve all made mistakes” at 25/1. “Sex Addiction” is trading at 66/1, but you get the feeling that if he’s going to go there, you would assume that he’s going to phrase it a bit more subtly. “Thank God for John Terry” trades at 100/1 while “At least I didn’t pay” trades at 250/1. The long shot option seems to be “I’ve been a silly Billy with my Willy” at a hefty 500/1. Tiger Woods to announce his retirement trades at 200/1.
Additionally, for those looking forward with Tiger, you can find him at 5/2 to win the 2010 Masters with Paddy Power.
