TONY ADAMS OR ROBERTO MARTINEZ FOR NEXT CELTIC MANAGER
Things are really starting to heat up in the race to be named next Celtic Manager. The Betfair market was rocked today by Tony Adams insistence that he is close to being named the next Celtic Manager and he's taken a pretty significant price drop, however, he remains at 22.0 so if you think the former Arsenal man is going get the nod you'll be in for a very hot payday. Roberto Martinez is now the solid favourite to secure the post and the former Swansea manager carries a competitive price of 3.3. That's good odds on a favourite and a Martinez bet with a hedge or a lay on Adams may pay off nicely. Tony Mowbray is still the second favourite carrying a price of 4.2. Owen Coyle continues to trade around 5.0. Mark McGhee is available at 13.0 and Craig Levein sits at 27.0. A year and a half ago I would have tipped Roy Keane for this definitely but I think he needs to develop himself in the lower leagues and gain some success there before he goes back to top flight management. David O'Leary is listed at 44.0 while Slaven Bilic sits at 30.0. Paul Lambert has just taken a drop down to 55.0, but I really see this one as a competition between Roberto Martinez and the rest of the field. I don't think Tony Adams has done enough managerially to secure the Celtic post- this is a club with lots of pride and an excellent tradition and they're going to appoint the guy who almost got Pompey relegated? I just don't see it happening. I would get in there and back Roberto Martinez all the way.
