TOTTENHAM BETTING TIPS 2009/10 PREMIER LEAGUE
The bookies are tipping Harry Redknapp's Spurs side to have a break-out year after a few season of disappointment. Completely turning the team around since the Juande Ramos debacle, Redknapp has brought some real fighting spirit to the side and they are finally playing the way that they should be. Spurs managed to finish 8th last year and William Hill expects the Yid Army to push on this year. Tottenham finishing higher than 8th place will pay out at 4/7 while another 8th placed finish pays out at 4/1. Lower than 8th will see you paid out at 5/2. Another market where Tottenham is putting up a strong, and well-priced, challenge is in the betting without the big four market. You'll see Spurs listed at 7/2, second place behind Manchester City who are at 5/6. Everton pay out 5/1 here, but I don't think the bookies would put Spurs that high up if they weren't going to challenge this year. Pavluychenko seems to have been a real bust, but the signing of Peter Crouch is going to bring plenty of solidity and yes, height, to the front line. Getting more games out of Ledley King will be paramount as well, as they always look a different side when he's in the line-up. Jermaine Jenas has been linked to Inter Milan, but looks to be staying around this year. I'm a big fan of Tom Huddlestone when he's playing well and I'm looking forward to seeing Luka Modric orchestrating things in central midfield once again. If you think any Spurs players are going to top the Premiership scoring tables, check out Jermain Defoe at 25/1 and Peter Crouch at 50/1. They've also been placed in the London division by William Hill and they are 14/1 to beat out Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Fulham.
