Tottenham v Arsenal Preview
It's the North London Derby folks and these occasions always stir the emotions. For betting purposes it is also quite intriguing because Derbies always throw up a few opportunities. At Stan James we bet Tottenham?..4/1, The Draw?..9/4, Arsenal?..4/6. On the face of it 4/1 for Tottenham seems inviting. After watching Tottenham take Burnley to the cleaners in The Carling Cup on Tuesday, you realized that this Tottenham side has some real talent in it. Jermaine Defoe seemed different class and his goal was simply striking at it's best. With this kid in the team they will always score goals. He's 6/1 to score first. But they have the makings of a very decent team. But you have to temper this with the fact that it might take Martin Jol a little while to get the side to it's full potential. But on their day it wouldn't be a shock to see them beat anyone. Arsenal at 4/6 is a price that could tempt some because let's face it they are a cut above any Premiership team at the moment, but derbies are always levelers and you'd have to be careful. Tottenham though haven't beaten them since 1999, so read into that what you want. Tottenham's home form this season is certainly a worry. They have had only one win at White Hart Lane all season. But Arsenal have had a few hiccups recently and are not swaggering around like they were. They'll be without Sol Campbell probably, with Gilberto Silva and Edu also out injured. But their squad is so full of talent it shouldn't matter too much. What Tottenham need to do is to keep it tight and not let the Gunners play. If they don't they could be in trouble. The atmosphere will be electric and it's one of those games that you want to sit down and watch.
