TOTTENHAM VS ARSENAL PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
We’ve got a big London derby set to kick-off today and third-place Arsenal go in as the solid favourites to take all three points according to top UK bookmaker William Hill. Arsene Wenger’s men are priced at 5/4, nearly odds-on, to take the victory while Spurs are listed at a very plausible 11/5 price tag. The draw pays 23/10 and you get the feeling that its going to see some action at that price.
It’s clear that they expect the two teams to go at each other, but Spurs defence has been stingy all season- especially at home. OPTA Sportsdata points out that Spurs have conceded fewer goals at home than any other side in the Premiership.
The preferred scoreline is a 1-1 draw, which trades at 6/1 while a 1-0 result to Arsenal pays out at 15/2. Interestingly enough, 2-1 to Arsenal also trades at 15/2. 2-1 to Spurs rewards at 9/1.
Judging by the odds, looking at the goalscorer markets indicates that Arsenal have the bigger goal threat with more players listed at shorter prices. You’ll find Nicklas Bendtner trading at 6/5 while Robin Van Persie is expected to be back for this one. He is 11/10 to score anytime during the match. Andrey Arshavin is listed at 5/4 while Eduardo shares the same price. Theo Walcott and Carlos Vela can both be backed at 7/4 while Samir Nasri is always worth keeping an eye on and he’s listed at 7/2.
Jermaine Defoe is listed at 6/5 while Roman Pavluychenko is available to be backed at a 5/4 price. Peter Crouch trades at 15/8 while Eidur Gudjohnsen and Luka Modric are priced at 9/4 anytime. Aaron Lennon should be back for this one while he’s listed at 11/4 to score a goal at any point. I think that if Spurs are going to undo Arsenal, then you’re going to see Lennon playing a pivotal role. I would also bet on Pavluychenko to factor into the equation.
The odds look decent on a penalty being awarded at any point, I think London is due a few penalties after yesterday’s match between Chelsea and Bolton, and William Hill has priced a penalty at 12/5 while no penalties are the favoured outcome at 3/10.
