TOTTENHAM VS. WOLVES- LINEUPS AND BETTING TIPS
Tottenham take on the surprisingly higher Premiership placed Wolverhampton Wolves this afternoon, on a day that will see the Premiership table finally readjusting to something less related to a dead-heat.
Spurs come into this match off the back of an impressive Champions League draw away at Werder Bremen, which merely served to once again underline their status as the most unpredictable team in the league.
While many consider this game to be a walkover for the men in white, Harry Redknapp will be sure to let his men know that he will not be tolerating any slip ups- as witnessed by the team's shock loss to Wigan after their last European success
On the other end of the spectrum, Mick McCarthy will be keen to use this encounter as an opportunity to take the heat out of accusations that his Wolves side’s style of play is too aggressive- having resulted in 13 bookings and one red card in their last two matches.
While Spurs will undoubtedly be going all out for a win this afternoon, one needs to only look back at last year's Premiership results list to realise that Mick McCarthy’s Wolves were the only team, bar Manchester United, to take six points off last season’s fourth-place finishers.
On the Spurs team news front it is hoped that new signing Rafael van der Vaart can overcome his calf strain in time to feature, however it is widely expected that he will run on off the bench, alongside playmaker Luka Modric.
William Gallas is likely to start alongside Younes Kaboul, after the Frenchman continued his positive run in the side mid-week. Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is also set to start
Probable Spurs starting line-up: Cudicini; Corluka, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Jenas, Huddlestone, Bale; Keane, Crouch.
Probable Wolves starting line-up: Hahnemann; Fletcher, Craddock, Ward, Elokobi; Mancienne, Foley, Henry, Jarvis; Ebanks-Blake, Doyle.
Wolves are without Ronald Zubar, Stephen Hunt and Jelle Van Damme- all victims to injuries
Spurs are dead on favourites to walk this game at 1.44, to Wolves long shot 8.0
While Wolves have surprised Spurs in the past, one must feel that Redknapp simply will not let this game slip.
A 1-0 and 2-0 win in Spurs; favour are both set at 7.0, with a 3-0 win at 10.0.
A shock Wolves win at 1-0 will see you getting 17, with an unbelievable 41.0 resulting off a 2-0 Wolves win
For Spurs Roman Pavlyuchenko is favoured to open proceedings at 4.0, with the in-from Peter Crouch at 2.0 to score at anytime- a great bet!
For Wolves Sylvain Ebanks-Blake is favoured to find the net at 4.33, with Kevin Doyle equals.
Again, this would make a great story of David vs. Goliath, however after Spurs’ last slip up after European qualification, Harry will simply not allow a Wolves team to arrive at White Hart Lane contemplating, or more importantly producing a win
Spurs will win this comfortably ,with a 3-0 win a good bet
