Twins heading for double top
Mancunian twins Sam and Amanda are now officially the most popular Big Brother housemates in the history of the show, according to Ladbrokes. Samanda, who are rumoured to be lined up for a pop deal in the mould of the Cheeky Girls, have attracted over £5 million worth of bets industry-wide, beating the previous best of £4.75m struck to last year's winner Tourette's sufferer Pete Bennett (remember him?). Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: "The Twins will go down in BB history. They've managed to steer clear of all the bitching and back-stabbing which has made them firm favourites amongst punters. "If they're crowned queens of BB their army of fans will only increase. The only people they won't be popular with is the bookies. We stand to take a hammering if they pocket the £100,000 winner's cheque." The girls are red-hot 1/6 favourites to win the show and finally put to bed the longest ever running series of Big Brother. And the layers are also asking the question 'what next for the inmates.' Unemployed Carole, who went into the house promising revolution, is 66/1 to become a Respect MP at the next General Election. Ex-boyband member and general lothario Ziggy is 10/1 to have a number one song before the end of 2007, whilst fellow heartthrob Liam is 2/1 to appear in a Lynx deoderant advert. The Twins are 10/1 to release their own cosmetics range. Brian is 12/1 to appear on Eastenders and Jonty is 3/1 to present a show on the History Channel (not specifically about spanking teddies). Weinberg added: "All the housemates will try to cash in on their 15 minutes of fame...but with varying degrees of success." Latest betting: Winner: Twins 1/6, Brian 7/2, Liam 16/1, Ziggy 50/1, Jonty, Carole 66/1 (Ladbrokes) (Editor's Note: for all the latest Big Brother prices in the last week check out Ladbrokes!)
