England's desperately close Test victory was worth £82,500 to the William Hill customer who risked a £15,000 cash bet on them at odds of 9/2 before the match started, in a Manchester betting shop.'The punter, believed to be a businessman in his mid thirties, seems to be a lucky man - he won £1000 on a dog race while he was waiting to put his bet on England' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.'We're waiting to see whether he playes up his winnings by taking England to win the next game.'England are still underdogs to win the Ashes despite their narrow 2nd Test win, and Hills quote them at 15/8 with the Aussies 5/6 favourites and a drawn series offered at 7/2.Australia are 11/10 favourites to win the 3rd Test with Hills who make England 9/5 and the draw 5/2.
