UEFA Champions League Group Stage Betting Tips Part 1
- By Allan Pederson on August 29, 2013 19:32 GMTToday we saw the draw of the 2013/4 Champions League Group Stage and it cannot be understated that we have a really exciting set of fixtures ahead of us this year. There is a lot to like about the way some of these groups have shaped up and you can’t really say that there is one really simple group that everybody would prefer to be drawn into. In fact, there are two groups of death this year and we certainly learned last season that anything can happen in groups like those.

Group A sees Manchester United come in as the significant favourites to emerge as group winner with bookmakers pricing them at a slim 1/2 line shortly after the groups were officially drawn. Shakhtar Donetsk is the second choice from the bookmakers and they will be battling it out with Bayer Leverkusen as they are 9/2 against the German sides 11/2 to win the Group.
Real Sociedad are the longshot 7/1 selection.
Real Madrid headline Group B and are given plenty of credibility as the likely group winners. Punters will find them trading at a 2/5 listing but they will face stiff competition from Juventus who can be backed at 9/4 to top the group.
The big question here is how each side handles the intimidating trip to Galatasaray, who are the 12/1 shots to win Group B. FC Copenhagen are bringing up the rear with a 66/1 price to win their group - among the longest odds in the market.
PSG are at the top of what might be considered the weakest group. Group C still presents a real challenge for all involved and there is every chance that any of the four teams could emerge from this one. Paris Saint-Germain are the slim 1/2 favourites to top the group but you can never really count out Benfica either as they have shown plenty of skill in away fixtures in Europe.
