UFC 107 LATEST ODDS BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS

This month’s UFC is set to be easily one of the best in quite some time if the fights match up to their potential. We get not one, but three world-class face-offs and, if you’re planning on betting on UFC 107 you’re likely going to have plenty of excellent options and potential payouts.
Even if you’re just betting among friends, it’s always a great idea to check out the UK bookmakers just see what the real odds on the fight are listed at. The big favourites for this weekend’s action are Frank Mir, Kenny Florian and BJ Penn who is considered the biggest favourite of the evening. The odds for the undercard fights will likely be added on the day of the event, but these three massive bouts are going to dominate most of the betting. Currently, William Hill has odds for the three feature matches with Paddy Power offering up odds on two of the evenings undercard fights.
Jon Fitch is a heavy favourite to dispose of Mike Pierce in their bout. Fitch trades at 1/5 and should take this one fairly easily. Pierce trades at 3/1 and that’s too long a price for me. I wouldn’t go so far as to call Fitch a banker, anything can happen in this sport, but his 1/5 price tells no lies.
Paul Buentello takes on Stefan Struve and this one looks to have very little between the two fighters. Struve is given the edge by the bookmaker at 4/6 with Buentello available at 11/10.
William Hill considers Frank Mir a strong candidate against Cheick Kongo in their massive battle on Saturday night. Mir trades at around 1/2 at the moment with Kongo paying out at 6/4 for the outright victory. This is Mir’s first fight back since he lost to Brock Lesnar in UFC 100. He’d actually defeated Lesnar with a kneebar back at UFC 81. Mir is vulnerable to striking fighters, and the fact that Kongo has won three of his last four fights with strikes gives me a reason to take the value option. Personally, I think it comes down to the fact that Frank Mir has fought at a higher level than the Frenchman, but the two styles contrast pretty well. I think that Kongo may opt to try to win this by decision, but I have question marks over just how well his skill level matches up to Frank Mir.
Kenny Florian is taking a bit of a step down in quality as he takes on Clay Guida. Florian got beat by BJ Penn’s incredible Rear Naked Choke and that’s something that really shouldn’t happen to Florian. He’s won a few fights that way in his day so he should be a bit smarter about that type of thing. What it really comes down to is how superior BJ Penn was in that fight. Guida is an interesting opponent but he just hasn’t won enough fights at the highest level for quite some time. His last bout was a tough loss via split decision on the Ultimate Fighter back in June. Florian is more likely to win this fight, but if it goes the distance, your money should be on Guida. Florian is at 1/2 while Guida trades at 6/4.
One thing that you’re usually guaranteed with Diego Sanchez is an excellent fight that more often than not will go the distance. BJ Penn is a hell of a fighter and arguably the best in his weight-class. Sanchez defeated Clay Guida in his last fight and he’ll be looking to best Penn here and get some really massive momentum going again. If you’re betting with friends on what’s going to be the fight of the night- this is the option you want to take! Sanchez has a lot of work to do according to the bookmakers, he’s listed at a 12/5 price with Penn heavily-favoured at 3/10. I think there isn’t a huge contrast in styles between the two and I think that we could see a real war of attrition, especially in the 2nd round. If it comes down to a decision, that will likely be Sanchez’s best chance. If he can avoid Penn’s ground game then he’s got a chance, but he will have to put up the fight of his life to get the win here.
