UFC 93 Betting Tips: Rich Franklin will KO Dan Henderson

Mixed Martial Arts fanatics are anxiously awaiting the first punch to be thrown as UFC 93 is set to explode this weekend. Rich Franklin is taking on Dan Henderson while Mark Coleman is going to do battle with Brazilian Mauricio Rua. Alan Belcher will also be fighting Canadian Denis Kang at the O2 Arena in Dublin. If you're going to be doing some betting on the matches, including the Franklin-Henderson main event, you're going to have to navigate some tricky but inherently profitable odds. Denis Kang, John Hathaway and Mauricio Rua are all considered virtual locks listed at 2-7, 1-4 and 1-4 respectively. Not much value to be had there, but I can't really see any upset, barring some type of early freak knockout. Marcus Davis vs Chris Lyttle is a bit of a different story though, as I can see Lyttle pulling off the upset here. Listed at evens, I think that Lyttle's fighting style will create some problems for Davis and the Indianapolis-based firefighter will likely win this one via decision. The longer a fight goes on, the more it favors Chris Lyttle and I'm backing him here all the way. Rich "Ace" Franklin against Dan Henderson is not just the main event, but also the trickiest bout to bet on of the entire evening. I'm expecting a flurry of early activity where somebody may be able to carve out a surprise knockout. I wouldn't count on a submission in the early stages, but once we get to round 3, I expect things to change considerably. Franklin likes to finish off his opponents with a flurry of punches or a well-placed kick to the midsection. I don't see a decision at the end of this fight, I see either a KO or a doctor stoppage and I'm backing Franklin to take this one. Henderson will need to keep his guard up the entire time and Franklin's fighting style, a mix of boxing, Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu should give him enough ammo to overcome Dan Henderson's more physical Greco-Roman style. Henderson's loss record also makes it difficult for me to back him. You're looking at 10-11 on Franklin and 5-6 on Henderson and I'm backing Franklin all the way.
