URUGUAY VS FRANCE LATEST WORLD CUP 2010 BETTING TIPS

France's price to win this match has been cut by bookmakers over night as Raymond Domenech's side are now priced at 6/5 with popular UK-based bookmaker Blue Square. Uruguay are listed at a very enticing price of 5/2 while the draw trades at 11/4.

I've pegged Uruguay to take this one for quite some time as I've selected France to be my favoured team that doesn't get out of the group stage- you know there's always one. Personally, I think the in-fighting on the French side could be their downfall and we all know that they don't always start the tournament too brightly. See: Senegal.
The other reason why I'll be backing Uruguay to win this match and win Group A is because Uruguay boast one of the most quality strike partnerships in Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez. Granted, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka are nothing to sneeze at, but Henry isn't quite the player he used to be and Anelka isn't as effective at international level as he can be for his club.
You'll find Diego Forlan priced to score anytime at 6/4 while He is 8/1 to score a header and 7/1 to score from outside the box- a definite possibility thanks to the aerodynamics of the new ball.
I could see France conceding a penalty and Forlan is priced at 18/1 to win that penalty and he is also 7/1 to be booked. Luis Suareaz is 2/1 to score anytime and 14/1 to score with a header. He's 16/1 to win that penalty and that tells you something about his style of play.
Thierry Henry to score against Uruguay is listed at 6/4 and he is 20/1 to score in both halves and 16/1 to score from a header. Anelka is priced at 11/8 to score anytime and that's the shortest odds in the match.
If Uruguay's defence can step up to the plate and shut down Anelka, I'm confident that Forlan and Suarez can pick apart the French backline.
The first goal is crucial here and France are the 3/4 favourites to get it while Uruguay trade at 11/8.
I'll be back with a few more pre-match updates, but right now it's looking like Uruguay 2-1 or 2-0 with two goals from Diego Forlan.
