URUGUAY VS FRANCE WORLD CUP 2010 LAST MINUTE BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS
We're just about an hour away from kick-off in today's second match and we'll be examining some of the goalscorer betting odds, as well as previewing the live betting odds from popular UK bookmaker Ladbrokes. While the first fixture of the 2010 World Cup proved to be a fairly exciting match, a match of two halves really, but I expect this one to be a bit more open and with both teams to play with a bit more flair and precision.
I think that the Group A betting market is wide open right now with the draw in the previous match and both sides will know how important a win in the first match will be. If a team can win this match and draw or win the next one then they're basically through to the next round. Anybody can win Group A at this point.
If France lose this one then they're in big trouble.
They are the favourites though and you'll find France's odds to win priced at 2.1 pre-match with Uruguay available at a 3.75 price. The draw is listed at 3.1 and that's a decent bet for the neutrals.
I think if this one does wind up as a draw that it will be a higher-scoring draw likely a 2-2 result. I think there's plenty of goals in either side and neither Uruguay or France has a particularly stellar defensive unit.
Nicolas Anelka is priced at even money to score anytime with a 2.0 listing putting him ahead of Thierry Henry at 2.37 and Diego Forlan at 2.75. Djibril Cisse is also at 2.75, alongside Andre-Pierre Gignac. Uruguay's Luis Suarez is listed at 3.25- the same price as Franck Ribery.
France are at 1.72 to score first while Uruguay trade at 2.37.
I expect plenty of interesting live betting opportunities in this one and the next goalscorer is generally a fantastic payout. Remember that you're going to get much better prices on midfielders or even defenders to score ahead of the strikers and with such good goalscoring on offer here you may struggle to get some big odds. Keep your eyes on players like Patrice Evra and Jeremy Toulalan to get a goal, possibly from a set-piece.
