URUGUAY VS GERMANY PREDICTIONS FOR 2010 WORLD CUP 3RD PLACE MATCH PART ONE
Germany are the solid favourites for this one and virtually every bookmaker has listed them at an odds-on price for this one- and that's a factor that the Uruguayan side just might revel in. They've excelled in the underdog role throughout this tournament and cobbled together a really great run that could have gone quite different if a few bounces went their way.
Luis Suarez's handball will go down in history as one of the most memorable World Cup moments and it just might pip Frank Lampard's non-goal against the Germans as the most memorable moment of the 2010 World Cup.
Popular UK bookmaker William Hill has priced the Germany's odds to beat Uruguay at an 8/11 price while Uruguay are trading at 4/1 to win the match in 90 minutes. The draw, which would see us into extra-time and possibly penalties, would pay out at an enticing 5/2.
I think that's a great bet for the neutrals.
The outright winner market has Germany listed at a very slim 3/10 while Uruguay are priced at 12/5. That's a very short price for Germany and I would wait to back them until the in-play betting starts as those odds just aren't attractive.
I think the Thomas Muller factor is going to be an interesting variable and you can back Muller to get a goal at anytime with an 11/8 payout. He is 7/1 to score first or last and 8/1 to score two or more.
Miroslav Klose is the favoured German goalscorer and you can back him at 4/5 anytime and 9/2 first or last. He is 4/1 to score two or more and 18/1 to get a hat-trick. He would need to score a few here to be in contention for top goalscorer at the World Cup.
Diego Forlan is priced at 6/4 to score anytime for Uruguay and 8/1 to score first or last. I hear he may not start the match due to injury so I would wait until the teamsheets are released before placing a substantial wager on Forlan, who would be a good bet to score if he actually plays.
