URUGUAY VS GHANA PREDICTIONS AND WORLD CUP BETTING TIPS
After a dramatic upset in today's opening World Cup Quarter-Final fixture, we could very well be set for another barn-burner of a match as two upstart sides clash today for a berth in the semi-finals.
Uruguay are going in as the distinct favourites here and I think justifiably so. They have seen a last minute price cut similar to the one Brazil got over the past few days. You can currently back Uruguay at a 19/20 price with popular UK bookmaker Blue Square.
You'll find the draw available at a 21/10 price while Ghana to win the match outright is rewarding at a 7/2 listing. I have a feeling that the draw is going to be a popular option here as there will be plenty of neutrals wagering on the match- that's an important thing to consider.
I think plenty of late volume has come in on Uruguay and prompted that price cut. I think that you can bank on Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez to be the key go-to-guys here for the South American side.
Needless to say, Diego Forlan is the favoured anytime goalscorer in this fixture and you can back him to grab a goal at any point with an 11/8 price. He is listed at 14/1 to score in both halves and 33/1 to hit what would be a very famous hat-trick. He is trading at 10/1 to score a header and 7/1 to score from outside the box. He is an enticing 8/1 to hit the woodwork at any point and I think this match could be fairly open and that's not a bad bet, especially if he's on the field for the full 90 minutes.
Luis Saurez can be backed at 13/8 to score anytime and he's 18/1 to score in both halves. You can back him at 10/3 to score first for his team and he's also 18/1 to win a penalty for his side. He is 5/2 to be booked and that's not a bad bet either.
For Ghana, the big variable is the performance of Asamoah Gyan, he's a solid 9/4 to score anytime and I think he will likely be on the receiving end of most of Ghana's long passes. He can be a very tough contender to deal with in one-on-one situations and, if he can position himself to exploit gaps in the Uruguayan defence, I'm confident that he could do some serious damage.
I think this one could be a decent candidate to go into extra-time, but it's going to be important to see how the two sides match up against each other early on. I think this could be one for the in-play punters and if you're going to be placing a substantial amount on this match I would wait at least 15 minutes before placing your main wagers. I think this one may take a while to heat up and it shouldn't hurt you, price-wise, to delay your wager until about 15 minutes. I think Uruguay should take this one and it involve extra-time. I think they would dominate a penalty shoot-out as well.
