URUGUAY VS HOLLAND SEMI FINAL LATEST ODDS AND BETTING PREDICTIONS
We've had some interesting movement in the outright betting markets for today's massive World Cup 2010 Semi-Final fixture between Uruguay and Holland. You'll notice that, amongst most popular bookmakers, Holland's price has actually climbed slightly while Uruguay have ticked down just a bit.
As it currently stands, you can back Holland at a 4/6 price with William Hill in the outright 90 minutes market. Uruguay are priced at 5/1 with the draw available at 12/5. I think that the odds reshuffle has been due to a confirmation that Uruguay will be adopting the more defensive tactics that we were discussing here yesterday.
The outright qualification prices haven't really jumped around too much with Holland still at 3/10 and Uruguay available at 12/5. This option includes extra-time and penalties- which I think are becoming more popular betting options as punters may be thinking that the string of upsets might continue.
The favoured correct score outcome is, surprise-surprise, a 1-0 result to Holland and you can back that at a 9/2 price. A 1-1 draw is the next in line with an 11/2 margin. Holland to win 2-1 pays out at 15/2 price while a 3-2 victory is a titanic 33/1. If you think Uruguay get the job done in regular time, try backing them 1-0 at a 17/2 margin, 2-1 at a 14/1 price or 3-2 with a whopping 66/1 payout.
The over/under on goals is set at 2/5 and the bookmakers clearly favour the under- pricing it at an 8/15 listing. Over 2.5 can be backed at 11/8 and that's a decent selection in my book. I think the more goals there are in this match- the more it favours Holland so be sure to keep that in mind.
If you do favour extra-time or penalties, the favoured outcome is Holland to win in extra time at an 8/1 price both sides trade at 10/1 on penalties. Should Uruguay score the extra-time goal and hold out- you'll be paid at 14/1.
A penalty to be awarded and scored at any time is available at 17/5 while that penalty to be awarded and missed is listed at 11/1. Uruguay are 18/1 to come from behind and win, while Holland can be backed at 8/1 to do the same. Both sides are available at 9/1 to come from behind and draw.
There is an excellent goalscorer match bet between Robin Van Persie and Diego Forlan. The draw between the two is odds-on at 10/11 while Van Persie to outscore Forlan is priced at 13/8- a bit too short in my opinion. I like the 7/2 price on Forlan as Holland tend to get their goals from midfield where Forlan is generally the focal point of Uruguayan moves.
It's going to be a genuinely fascinating fixture and it will be a full 90 minute battle. I think that Uruguay can come back from a goal or two down, but you just wonder whether their luck will catch up to them or not. I think they are definitely the value play here, but you may want to save the bulk of your stack for the in-running betting as this one is a little tough to predict at the outset.
