URUGUAY VS SOUTH KOREA PREDICTIONS AND LATEST BETTING TIPS

This is going to be a really solid clash and I think it's a great way to get the 2010 World Cup knockout stages off to a spectacular start. You can count on both teams to go forward and I don't expect either of them to hold back as both sides will consider this match there for the taking.

Uruguay are the odds-on favourites to win this match, but I don't see that bothering the South Koreans that much. This is a match that pits two sides against each other whose performances are based on workrate. I expect this one to be played out to the last minute and I could fancy a higher scoreline if Uruguay hadn't have shut out every team they'd played up to this point.
I do fancy South Korea to give them a real go, and even though they don't boast any world-class strikers, they tend to pour forward in such numbers that it can be hard to keep them from scoring. They outscored Uruguay in qualifying and I reckon they could grab a goal here.
If South Korea gets the opening goal here then it makes things very very interesting.
You'll find Uruguay priced at 1.83 to win the match in 90 minutes while South Korea are listed at 4.5. The draw trades at 3.4 and I think extra-time is a possibility but not as likely as some of the other knockout round fixtures.
In regards to outright qualifiation (and this means extra-time and penalties are included) you'll find Uruguay listed at 1.4 while South Korea are priced at 2.75.
The bookmakers don't favour a huge amount of goals and you'll find the over/under at 2.5 with the over listed at a slim 1.5 price. The over is available at 2.5 and I could see a few goals here.
Uruguay on the (-1.0) handicap are priced at 3.5 while South Korea (+1.0) at 1.83.
I think that Uruguay are justifiable favourites but they haven't played a team like South Korea yet. It will be interesting to see how the Asian sides all-action style matches up against Uruguay's organization and explosive counter-attacks. I think that over 2.5 is a safebet and that Uruguay should just edge things here.
