US Masters on Betfair

On the tenth anniversary of his first Masters win, world number one Tiger Woods goes into this week's US Masters as one of the shortest-priced Major favourites of all-time. On Betfair, Woods is currently the 8-5 favourite and almost half of the money traded on the event has been matched on him.The 2005 winner has been matched at a high of just 2-1 and impressive performances this year have seen his price consistently come in.Woods is also available at 23-1 to win the Grand Slam on Betfair's Tiger Specials markets but those who fancy an Augusta nightmare for the four-time winner can back Woods to miss the cut at 14-1. Phil Mickelson, who has won the event twice in the last three years, is next in the betting at 8-1 followed by Ernie Els at 18-1 and another former winner in Vijay Singh at 19-1. Adam Scott, who won last week's PGA Tour event at the Shell Houston Open, has attracted some money in the last few days and is into 37-1, having been available at 59-1 just a couple of weeks ago.Ryder Cup heroes Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson share favouritism at 6-1 on the Top European market and are closely followed by two other players that featured at the K-Club in September- Padraig Harrington and Paul Casey, who are both currently trading at 9-1. Betfair Spokesman James Pacheco said: 'Roughly half of the money matched so far on the winner's market has predictably revolved around Tiger Woods so all eyes will be on the world number one when he tees off on Thursday. However, Phil Mickelson has won in Augusta twice in the last three years and has attracted plenty of interest at 17-2. There are some huge prices on offer outside the favourites, such as the 299-1 available on Colin Montgomerie and 349-1 on Darren Clarke. If your money is on one of the outsiders early on and they come up trumps on Sunday night, they won't be the only ones wearing a fancy jacket on Monday morning!' Winner's market: Betfair bet- 8-5 Tiger Woods, 17-2 Phil Mickelson, 18-1 Ernie Els, 19-1 Vijay Singh, 31-1 Sergio Garcia, 35-1 Retief Goosen, 35-1 Adam Scott, 37-1 Geoff Ogilvy.Top European Betfair bet: 6-1 Henrik Stenson, 6-1 Sergio Garcia, 9-1 Paul Casey, 9-1 Padraig Harrington, 11-1 Luke Donald, 13-1 Jose Maria Olazabal, 16-1 Justin Rose.
