Long-Shot Zvonareva Makes the US Open Final
- By Nila A on September 10, 2010 20:12 GMTVera Zvonareva the longest shot in the final four to win the 2010 US Open final is through to the tournament’s premier movement with a straight set win over top seed Caroline Wozniacki.
Although the victory is considered an upset in market terms and rankings, it’s not as unexpected a result as some would have it, when you consider Zvonareva has had a much better season in the slams this year than Wozniacki.
Now with Zvonareva through to the final the obvious question is who will join her. Venus Williams or Kim Clijsters?
Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters are set to follow onto Arthur Ashe Stadium and theirs is a relatively even-matched affair in the tennis betting markets across all platforms.
Clijstes is the defending champion and slightly favoured over Venus Williams to advance. The pair have split split 12 career meetings evenly; however, Clijsters has won four straight against the American, including two meetings at the US Open.
The Live In Play action should offer some better and more exciting returns as these two heavy hitters are expected to deliver an exciting contest, potentially a three set affair.
