Because a major upset it was, with the Kiwi not even having made a cut in the US Open for four years and having had the weekend free in his first five starts of this season.Retief Goosen went into the final round holding a three-shot lead and as a 4-7 chance on Betfair - he was actually backed at a low of 4-11 to win the tournament - but unbelievably he was five over after the first six holes and never recovered. Tiger Woods had a similarly poor start, bogeying the first two holes and drifting to 69-1 on Betfair at that stage, but he fought back to get within a shot of Campbell after he birdied the 10th and 11th.
